Who Is Phoenix DJ Billy James?

Over thirty years ago, Billy James was keyboardist and leader of Timepiece and Billy James Combo, premier lounge and show bands in the New York-Boston area, entertaining nite club audiences with music of the swinging 40's, doo-wop 50's, groovy 60's, and funky 70's. Billy's very first DJ job was a sock hop for 600 students in the gym of his high school while a sophomore there in the 1960's. Soon he was in demand for weddings and private parties both as a DJ and a musician.

With an entertainment career that spans five decades, DJ Billy James is Phoenix's most experienced wedding and party disc jockey and reception host. From the big bands to the Black Eyed Peas, Billy knows what it takes to keep the party going for guests of all ages. He's done it many times before and he'll do it again at your event.

Frankie Avalon, a regular on Dick Clark's American Bandstand, topped the charts in the 60's with a string of #1 hits and was a popular teen movie star in the 70's well-known for his appearance as the guardian angel in the 1978 film Grease singing Beauty School Dropout. Billy James and his lounge band featured Avalon's music in their 1970's night club shows.
